Summary

The chapter begins with Itachi revealing the final secret of the Mangekyou Sharingan.

He began to tell the long-ago story of Madara and his younger brother. They both awakened their Sharingan and were constantly competing with one another to become the stronger one. Soon, both of them awakened the Mangekyou Sharingan and they took control of the Uchiha clan, with Madara being the leader. However, Madara realized that with the Mangekyou Sharingan, he would one day become blind. He tried all methods to prevent that but he failed. In the end, he plucked both eyes from his brother’s head and attached them to his. Finally, the limitation of become blind from using the Mangekyou Sharingan was gone forever for Madara.

Madara easily took control of every shinobi clan the Uchiha encountered. Soon, he was praised as the strongest ninja in the world. The Uchiha clan then worked together with the Senju clan of the forest and gave birth to a new organization, also known as the Hidden Leaf Village. However, Madara and the leader of the Senju clan, also the First Hokage, couldn’t work together and they had a great battle. Madara lost but his powers remained.

Madara then formed Akatsuki and he was behind the kyuubi attack on the Hidden Leaf Village 16 years ago, but his plan was stopped by the Fourth Hokage.

Itachi then said that Madara is no longer worthy of being considered the greatest Uchiha. The only one who can surpass him is Itachi. He then said to Sasuke that he is his new light, and Itachi was going to pluck out his eyes so that his Mangekyou Sharingan will become permanent and he won’t become blind. Sasuke then removed his cape and got ready to face his brother. He then said, “Finally, it all ends here.”

How they resemble Sasuke and Itachi, huh?

Personal Opinions

Though no fighting is seen, I really love this chapter! The secret of the Mangekyou Sharingan is finally revealed, and Itachi’s true purpose of letting Sasuke live is also revealed. All assumptions of him being kind or wanting Sasuke to kill him are all false! So the true reason was to get Sasuke’s eyes once they become matured, so that his Mangekyou Sharingan would become permanent… Good one there, Kishimoto!

Indeed, you’ve lost my respect, Itachi. I was like WTH? when I saw Itachi’s delirious face at the top of this post. That must be the first time he ever got so excited. His coolness and suaveness were gone in that very instant.

And Madara is weaker than the First Hokage… I just can’t imagine how one Earth can the Wood Element Techniques of the First Hokage can be THAT strong…

And as expected of most Uchiha members, most of them are sick… I can’t believe that they are willing to kill their best friends and siblings just for the Mangekyou Sharingan… It really is a tainted clan and ability.

And so, the battle which Sasuke has been longing so much for has finally arrived. Considering the situation now, Itachi seemed to have lost his sanity. I bet Sasuke is going to win this battle. Just go and die, Itachi. Your plan won’t succeed.
